2. How a contract is made

When you place an order on our website you will receive an email acknowledging it. The contract between us starts when we confirm your order or tell you that it is being made. If we cannot accept your order, for example because an item is unavailable or the personalisation cannot be made, we will tell you and refund any payment in full.

3. Personalisation

Personalised items are made to your instructions. We engrave or print the wording exactly as you enter it, including spelling, capital letters, punctuation, dates and line breaks, so please check it carefully before you order. We do not correct spelling unless you ask us to.

If you spot a mistake after ordering, contact us straight away. If we have not started making your item we will change it free of charge. Once it has been made we may need to charge for a replacement.

We may decline personalisation that is offensive, unlawful or uses someone else’s trade mark or artwork without permission. If we do, we will contact you and offer a refund.

4. Photos, logos and artwork you send us

By sending us a photo, logo or design you confirm that you own it or have permission to use it, and you allow us to use it only to make your order and show you proofs.

The quality of the finished piece depends on the quality of the file. Small, blurred or low-resolution images can engrave or print with less detail. Where a file is not suitable we will tell you and suggest a better option. If you ask us to go ahead with a file we have flagged, the result is not treated as a fault.

5. Natural materials

We work with wood, slate, cork, leather and other natural materials. Grain, colour, texture and small marks vary from piece to piece, and engraving can look slightly different on each one. This natural variation is part of the character of the product and is not a fault.

6. Prices and payment

All prices are in pounds sterling and are the prices you pay. Delivery charges are shown at checkout before you pay. We take payment when you place your order. If a price on our website is clearly wrong, we will contact you before your order is made and you can choose to continue or cancel for a full refund.

7. Delivery and collection

We deliver within the United Kingdom only. Delivery options, costs and timescales are explained on our delivery page. You can also collect your order free of charge from our shop on Castle Street. The items are your responsibility from the time they are delivered to the address you gave us or collected.

8. Your right to cancel

For items that are not personalised, you have the right to cancel your order within 14 days of receiving it, without giving a reason, under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Tell us within that time and send the item back within a further 14 days, unused and in its original condition. You pay the cost of returning it unless it is faulty. We will refund the price and the standard delivery charge within 14 days of receiving the item back.

The right to cancel does not apply to items made to your specification or clearly personalised, such as engraved, printed or custom-made products. This does not affect your rights if an item is faulty or we have made a mistake. The full process is set out in our returns and refunds policy.

9. Faulty items and our mistakes

Your items must be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose, as set out in the Consumer Rights Act 2015. If an item arrives faulty or damaged, or the personalisation differs from what you ordered because of a mistake on our side, we will remake it or give you a full refund, including delivery.

We cannot accept returns for personalised items where the wording matches what you entered, including spelling mistakes or wrong details in your order, or where the result reflects the quality of a file you supplied after we advised against it.

10. Business and custom orders

For business, hotel, souvenir and other custom orders we send a quote and a digital proof. Production starts once you approve the proof in writing, for example by email or WhatsApp, and pay any deposit stated in the quote. Please check the proof carefully. Once approved, we make the items exactly as shown. Delivery dates in a quote are our best estimate and depend on prompt approval of the proof. Consumer cancellation rights do not apply to orders placed in the course of a business.

11. Our designs

Designs, artwork, photographs and text created by Will Do Studio remain our intellectual property. Your logos and artwork remain yours.

12. Our liability

If we break these terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our failure. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable or for business losses when you buy as a consumer. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law, and nothing affects your legal rights as a consumer.

13. Events outside our control

We are not responsible for delays caused by events outside our control, such as postal disruption or severe weather. If this happens we will tell you and do what we can to reduce the delay.

14. Your personal information

We use your personal information as described in our privacy policy.

15. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland you can also bring proceedings in your local courts. If something goes wrong, please contact us first. Most problems can be sorted quickly.
